World Cup fever is at an all time high, now that the People's Team, aka Germany, is through to the semifinals, where they will face the pretty boys Italy. That's all the Italians are, pretty boys who flatter to deceive .... long-haired dudes who are blinded from the obvious truths of German superiority. Aniway, I better not talk too much ... skalli Italy manages a fluke win, I will be so sia suay.
So anyway, last Saturday, managed to meet up with some of my JC classmates to go New Asia Bar. Now they have this promotion going on, where on matchdays, most drinks are 50% off till 9pm. Since we got there real early at 6pm, it wasn't much of a problem getting good seats, right in front of the big screen. Sadly, it now seems as if the core of 99S22 comprises simply me, Kenneth, Waikit, Konrad, Jiahui (all of whom turned up on Saturday), Huiting (who's somewhere eating moose in Canada), Yongkiat (who just woke up at 5pm), Adrian (who has prior commitments), Junhong (who always has prior commitments), and Lihua (who's away in some hospital tending to some people). Well, at least we have a permanent member now, who gets a seat on the permanent council of 99S22, and he is Xangjing. Now this is a big coup for 99S22, considering he is the class rep of 99S28 .... aka, Real Madrid gonna coup Cristiano Ronaldo soon. Actually the infighting between Rooney and Ronaldo actually makes me happy, considering how much I hate those Man Utd ppl.
So anyway, drinks were 50% off, and to me, it seems as if alcohol content also 50% off. The drinks all tasted so diluted, but what the heck lah ah. Good company was more important. So Xangjing, Waikit and I stayed till 2am to watch finish Portugal beat England .... n I even managed to sleep through parts of the 1st half. I can think of 3 reasons.
1) The match is boring .... but how am I to judge, since I was asleep? 2) Alcohol + 70th floor high altitude makes me high, but that is pretty much crap. The drinks that night tasted more like cough water. 3) None of the above
So aniway, we all know Germany are gonna win. So let's relive their penalty shootout win over Argentina in the quarterfinals then .....
