It's monday once more ... which means no classes! YAY! This weekend has been a very unproductive one to say the very least. Let's recall wat happened
Friday: Went for soccer training in the afternoon. I have been rather diligent in attending most of our training sessions this quarter ... unlike last year when I skipped almost all sessions. But the hard work has paid off -- we're in the quarter finals of the IM soccer tournament. Semi-finals to come! After rushing home from training, I went out with some of them plus Amanda's mum for dinner. Nothing eventful and so nothing to talk about ... only productive thing I did was eating .... Then we headed to Amanda's place after that for our traditional late-night mahjong session ... aka coerce newbies into playing and winning their money. But alas, last Friday proved not to be my lucky day.
Saturday: Woke up in the afternoon ... and realized Liverpool had won the FA Cup. SHIT! It's not that I hate Liverpool .... but come to think of it, I dislike every team, except Leeds United. In this way, I am being fair and just to all crap teams -- teams like Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs. Whenever I link all these teams together, the lyrics of the Leeds United song -- Glory Glory Leeds United -- just keeps coming back to my head. "Manchester can rave about the Summerbee and Best ... and there's Liverpool and Arsenal and Spurs and all the rest ... but let us sing the praises of the lads we love the best ... as Leeds go marching on"
Then had another productive eating session at Shaw's Crabhouse, where I had crabs, oysters and shrimps for appetizer, and then steak, shrimp, scallop and more crab for entree. Whew, fresh seafood non-Singapore style never tasted so good. Considering the people who went are those who use their cameras once a year, we didn't take any photos. Then we proceeded to The Tasting Room after dinner for dessert supposedly. So story goes like this: We are seated, served cold water and given a menu each so we can look through their amazing long list of wines and more wines. Then this waitress came to check our IDs. The guys of course are above 21, so that wasn't a problem, until Germaine told her she wasnt 21, and so would simply be eating chocolate dessert only. But some people being as inflexible as they are stupid, insisted that we leave, since no one under the age of 21 was allowed in. KNN! Dazhou then suggested we buy some wine and head back to Regents to drink. Sounds good? So while Dazhou was diligently looking through the champagne list at the counter, the rest of us just waited for him at the entrance. But then, this more stupid and irritating waitress came up to us --- ok she smiled at me first, n I smiled back, and then she walked up to us --- and told us to leave. How irritating and replusive and rude can certain people get? Aren't we even allowed to wait inside for a while? To top it all off, Yihan suggsted watching the show "Alexander" at 12 midnite. A stupid and boring 3 hr show ... amazed I stayed up till 3am to watch something that can't compare quality-wise to our own Beauty World
Sunday: Went for our brunch at Reza's Restaurant (I am too lazy to start linking all these restaurants) --- a Persian cuisine place. It sounds damn exotic and cool rite, but its actually just a meat-lovers paradise, but phrased in some cheem and complex way. The interesting part about all this isn't the food (for once), but the journey there. So Shengrong was driving one car, and I was driving the 2nd car. As we were waiting for the light to turn green, this man came up to Shengrong's car and asked for coins and wat not. He then procceded to comment that Shengrong had great taste in women, while gesturing to Kaval who was sitting in the front passenger seat. Ok, I agree with his judgement. Then this man came over to my car, and after getting rejected again, he said to Adela who was sitting beside me "Happy mothers day .... if you are a mother". I was trying so hard not to burst out in laughter, but I guess laughing out loud wouldnt have been a wise choice, given the propensity for girls to turn violent without prior warning. Prior experiences with Jennie have taught me this.
So now, it's getting late and I am getting shagged. Time to sleep soon. Chicago Idol's tmr nite ... I am gonna be the emcee ... I'm not feeling excited at all
