Ah, this Saturday has been rather eventful to say the least. After having caught the Da Vinci Code at 1130pm last nite, it was to be expected that I would wake up at noontime, which is what I efficiently did. Afterwhich, Shengrong asked me to go Summer Breeze 2006 in school. Now for all those non-Chicagoens, lemme explain what this Summer Breeze thing is all about. Basically, it's a fun-filled event at the end of spring quarter celebrating the onset of summer, and hence the end of the academic year. This event starts out by having an all-night dance party on Friday night, followed by an entire afternoon of fun on Saturday. Not only are there lots of games, but there is free bubble tea and food too. So let's go into the details, shall we? We shall!

Having just woke up half an hour prior to arriving in school for Summer Breeze, I was naturally in a dishevelled state. This is the final outcome:

Germaine isn't too impressed with the photo; well, neither am I. So it was Germaine, Shengrong and I who arrived together in school. First things first: food and bubble tea! So we promptly went to get our strawberry-lychee freeze. Yay!! I always enjoy my bubble tea. While queueing up for food, Hannah and several other Koreans were behind us, one of them being Hannah's good friend -- Sharon. Hannah introduced us to one another, and Sharon remembers me as that emcee from Chicago Idol!!! No need to eleborate.

Then we went round different booths, checking out the food and games and the "human view". With SAMSU not having set up any booth, we ended up at the CUSA booth, where they have this marble game, with the objective being to transfer all 7 marbles with a chopstick between 2 cups separated 10 metres apart. With 2 competitors, the one who does this the fastest wins a packet of Pocky! So Mingzhu challenged me, thinking that my chopstick-holding skills were as poor as my Mandarin skills. Haha! Little did she realize how adept I was in handling my chopsticks, as I comfortably beat her with 2 marbles to spare. Well, the secret is that chopsticks are what I use to eat ... and eating is an essential part of my daily routine. Haha! I win!

Having exhausted all simple games, we decided to do rock-climbing. Child's play. Shengrong and I (especially I), effortlessly made our way up, and of course down the wall. I think I look so professional climbing in berms.

Finally, Shengrong and I decided to try out the games on those inflatable bouncy stuff. But first of all, we had to sign indemnity forms! wtf rite? So first we challenged each other in this obstacle course, where one had to manoevere his way round several of these inflatable obstacles, such as crawling through tunnels, and squeeing through small gaps and stuff. So Shengrong and I competed, while Germaine and Charmaine dualed with each other. Germaine won, but their challenge was boring. So when the start signal was given, Shengrong and I dashed, and plunged head first into the tunnel. My berms nearly came down .... so that delayed me for a bit. Shengrong was leading till we got to the penultimate obstacle where we had to scale this inflatable wall by leaping onto it and progressing on this elevated level. Haha. Shengrong of course had difficulty vertically scaling the wall, while I effortlessly leaped up and finished the course, leaving Shengrong trailing far behind.

Finally, after some hassling from Amanda whom I was supposed to do our anthropology project with, we decided to end our Summer Breeze activities by challenging each other in this gladiator whacking thing, where we each had a huge stick weapon (I just forgot the name of that weapon), and the aim was to knock the opponent off the platform. Haha .... never did we had so much fun bashing each other in the face and in the stomach. It was so fun.

After such an exhausting 1.5 hours, I had to go to the library to start on our anthropology project. This was essentially the most non-productive part of the day. Even sleeping seems more productive.

Then Amanda, her mum, Chin Siong and I went to K Town for dinner. Lots of gossip over dinner, and now apparently I've taken up another challenge to jio someone out. Not gonna be a problem, I foresee! Now, it's almost midnite, and I think I should go shower, and maybe continue on that anthropology paper. Won't be nice if Amanda finishes her half of the paper, while I am still trying to start on mine. So that's it for now!
