Well, the results of the elections may have been out 5 hours ago, but hey, I just woke up (although its almost 2pm now), so to me, it's breaking news. PAP have been returned to power by winning 45 out of the 47 seats contested yesterday, giving them a total of 82 out of the 84 seats available in parliament. Officially, they managed to amass 66.59% of the votes, with the opposition trailing at 16.35% (WP), 12.97% (SDA) and 4.09% (SDP). If I am not wrong, SDP is the Chee Soon Juan Party. The 66.59% the PAP ammassed in support was a drop from the previous elections, but hey, opposition members Chiam See Tong and Low Thia Kiang managed to keep their respective wards.
I don't really wanna post any of my opinions as of now, since I am only an hour into awakeness, and I shall probably head back to bed sooner rather than later. So here's a breakdown of the results in all contested wards for anyone interested.
