2 scored goals and 1 disallowed goal. And as expected, Leeds United got the 2 goals they deserved, and Preston (short for "Press the self-destruct button") had a goal disallowed. C'mon, the ball had gone out of play as the corner came in, and yet the Preston players were still celebrating like they were some soccer morons who don't know the rules of the game. Bur rightly so, the "goal" was chalked off for the ball having gone out of play. This just shows how desperate Preston will go to get 1 over Leeds .... through such stupid and conniving means.
But goals from Rob Hulse and the Frazer Richardson (pictured above) put Leeds into the playoff finals in Cardiff on May 21. It was a team effort, so kudos to all Leeds United players. It feels good, doesn't it, when there is only 1 'United'? As I was listening to live commentary on BBC 5 Live, it felt good when the whole stadium suddenly went silent, save for the 2400 plus Leeds fans who had travelled all the way from Leeds to cheer on the team. Let's recall commentary of the 2 goals.
"Leeds win a corner .... Kelly to take it this time ....with his right foot ... swings the ball in .... oh, it's a GOAL!!!!! And it's Hulse .... totally unmarked at the far post .... with tall defenders such as (watever crap ... who cares about the Preston defenders) how could they leave Hulse unmarked? But Leeds get the breakthrough!!!"
"Hulse lays it off to Richardson .... the keeper's got it ... oh no, but it's gone through .... and Leeds are 2 goals up. Surely, that seals it!!!"
Isn't it a brilliant feeling when your team is just so good? And people always say Leeds play dirty, but hey, we have pictorial evidence of the Preston players playing dirty shit instead. Take a look at the picture below.
Isn't it obvious that Preston's David Nugent (can't believe I bothered typing out his name) aiming a kick at Leeds' dominant center-half Matthew Kilgallon. Well, ended up both players got booked for the scuffle.
This victory tastes so much sweeter after the antics of the Preston boss Billy Davies after the 1st leg had ended 1-1 at Elland Road. He clenched his fists and saluted to the Preston away supporters, as if his team had won the tie already. And he went on to say "We did the job there". Screw you, Davies!!! Look who's laughing now! Remember, never discount Leeds United. Next up, Watford or Crystal Palace.
Anyway, Leeds are off to the Championship playoffs finals on 21 May, and Preston can get to reflect on another year in the Championship. For now, let's get behind Leeds ... for we should all go MARCHING ON TOGETHER!
