Time really flies ... week 7 of fall quarter is just 2 days away. Little by little, the quarter slowly ebbs away. And seeing that fall quarter is supposedly the best quarter for doing stuff and what not (cannot imagine going out in winter with all the snow arrowing into your eyes, wind chilling out your ears, temperatures hovering round -25 degrees rite?), the best part of final year in Chicago is slowly but surely coming to a close. But the company of friends remain ... so those who are leaving after this year should really cherish our remaining times in Chicago. Ehrm, just occurred to me that this applies to everyone, not just to final years here.
Last night we had dinner at Fulton's On the River. As its name suggests, the place is located exactly on the Chicago River, dun need to walk 5 blocks north to reach Grand Lux ... it's just across the river. For those thinking of going there, the menu can be found here. It is predominantly a seafood place, but they insist their steak is pretty good too. And to top it off, there is also a sushi bar, and a wine bar in the place too, in addition to the usual fine dining table areas. I must say the scallops was really nice (we shared a plate of them), but the fish was okay okay ... nothing much to shout about. In fact, I've never even heard of most of the fish names before, so it's like based on the waitress' recommendations. Talking about the waitress, as she was recommending the specials of the day to us, we were of course looking at her and smiling rite? Of course lah, where got people so dao they continue talking among themselves or bo chap her rite? So we were listening and smiling, like we always to. And she became shy and amused, and asked us what was so funny about her. Aiyo, you never see me smile before is it? But I suppose when you are a female waitress attending to 4 guys (Serene was late ........ again), you always try to extend the conversation mah ........
